【Woods of Akasaka】 Nov.2003 Oil Painting 30F 90.9 × 72.7 cm Lakhan
There is large stock of copse woods which occupies about 2 hundreds ares
in the area of Akasaka in Sayama City, Saitama Pref.
Late in autumn, the Chichibu mountains can be seen in the distance through
the deciduous oaks over the village of Horigane. A relic of well so called
" The Well of Horigane" as introduce by "Seisho Nagon" in her famous essay
"Makurano Soushi" written more than thousand years ago in the age of
Heian Period is located in the Shrine of Horigane over there.
Oak leaves remaining in the branches glows like gold leaves irradiated by
the sun staying in the autumn sky making accoustic sound of whistle
dried by cold wind blowing down from Chichibu.
