【Early Summer with Plane Trees】  May 2001

There are large plane trees beside the "Waterfowl Pond" of Showa Kinen Park located in Tachikawa City, west of Tokyo. I visited the park on April 28, 2001 entering through south gate when it opened at 9:00 and painted till 13:30. But it was a day without sunshine and the tablau became lacking in contrast of light and shade. On May 13, 2001 I visited there again to take over the painting, it was clearly fine. Soon after I began painting in the morning, I found several people of the same hoby around me. I finished about 13:00 and go to the restaurant beside the pond to take lunch.
