【Wood along Nobidome Canal】 April 2001
                           Oil Painting 15F 65.2×53.0cm Lakhan
There are several patches of green wood along the "Nobidome Canal" which was developed about 350 years ago by the local government of Kawagoe Commonwealth to lead water from river to Musashino for supplying water for agriculture and for social life. This wood is located in Kodaira City, Tokyo. I visited this place on April 1, 2001 arriving at around 9 o'clock in the morning. It was so cold for spring because cold air mass of -36 ℃ approached the day before over the Japanese Ilands that everythings outside was frozen white by frost even the time I arrived at this wood. The wood of Nobidome is famous for that of Heirinji Temple, however this wood is so well preserved as enough compared to. There were not a little people walking through this path enjoying to see the nature along the canal and I found several persons of the same hobby as mine among them. I painted till 2:30 this day and completed it on April 15.
