【Cottage in Early Summer, North Karuizawa】
   May 2002, Oil Painting 15F 53.0×65.2cm Lakhan
It was not unil I was prepared to leave Noth Karuizawa that I was about to start
painting. But due to the rain, I prolonged my stay another day longer. Next day,
I got up before 4 o'clock and started painting in the "Collage Village" of
North Karuizawa together with my wife. A pair of people passed through with
greeting " This year rhododendron (rosebay) is already in its blossom." It's a
blossom of early summer.
While we were painting, many kinds of wild birds surrounded us with their prety
songs. It was almost like the symphony of wild songs. Continuous sound made by
woodpeckers could be heard remotely and closely. This season, North Karuizawa
is full of invigorating fresh acoutics with clear sunshine.
