【Farmers Village in Miyashiro Town】
   May 2002, Oil Painting 15F 53.0×65.2cm Lakhan
Once I entered the village of farmers, I found myself surrounded by their
traditional residences with woods and hedges and prestigious looks.
Over the residences, field of rice and peoplle bussy with preperation of
planting rice grass could be seen. Casual flowers like poppies, cornflowers
were planted in front of the gate of their residences.
The wood of hedge is putting out its reddish fresh sprouts. It was fine but
rather rich in moisture slightly giving a misty color to the atmosphere.
The strong sunshine of early summer yet puts strong shadow of the hedge over
the ground. A woman took to hanging the washed clothes in front of the gate
, which added certain accent in the landscape, and seemed to have noticed
me with certain anxiety of what I was doing there. I told her loudly that
I was going to draw a picture there and she looked convinced approaching me
only to find still white canvas.
