Kawajima Town is located near the junction of Arakawa-River and Oppe-River both flowing in Musashino. To go to Kawagoe from the north of Ageo City where I live, I usually go through the road passing Arakawa-River by Taroemon Bridge and Oppe-River by Kuginasi-Bridge. To bypass the road in Kawajima through old passes, we can find traditional old villages surrounded with oak woods and we can see flowers of claster amaryllis along and beside the ways. I happened to find these stone sculptures flowered by claster amaryllis when I was driving through one of the old passes in the village but it seemed to be rather well known to those of photographer as people carrying camera visited one after another. In Japan, this flower is called flower of "autumn equinox" , the season that blossoms and a religiuos season that people prays for bringing back the ancestors gone and send them to the another world after relegious ceremony. It never makes out its presence till coming into flower and is lost from memory once its flower has ended.
